Direct Supply 30th Anniversary LED Sculpture

Project: Create a 30th Anniversary Celebration Piece that honored the Direct Supply brand and its employees.

Challenges:  Lots of data coordination and complex production in a very short timeframe

Solutions: We gathered the signatures of each of the 1200+ employees of Direct Supply and organized them chronologically from left to right on the piece.  Each signature was laser-etched into dichroic (color changing) film and placed within a rectangular perforation of water-jet cut aluminum panels.  We arranged the dichroic pattern to form a subtle number ‘30’ visible to varrying degrees as one circumambulates the piece.
