Client Background: Johnson Controls is a global diversified company specializing in the building and automotive industries. The company, with over 130,000 employees and clients in over 150 countries, is headquartered in Glendale, WI and was looking for an atrium sculpture for their headquarters.
Project: Create a complex and varied atrium sculpture
Challenges: Take an idea/vision that wasn’t physically possible and create it into something tangible
Solutions: Worked closely with the client to create something that fit their needs. The space was previously occupied by a large willow tree, which had to be removed. Client wanted something that mimicked the weightless, airy quality of the tree, and played with way the light shown through the leaves.
Pieces created: 1500-piece sculpture that hangs in atrium of new power solution division at Johnson Control’s Glendale Headquarters
