ROAST COFFEE – LIGHT SOFFIT
We were asked by a group of 7 students from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee to be consultants on the conception and fabrication of an architectural installation for a local coffee shop. This project is located in a corner coffee shop near the University of Wisconsin
- Milwaukee. The client asked that the single volume of interior space in the coffee shop be divided in a controlled way – making specific relationships
between Barista and customer. The project needed to create both a design proposal AND fabricatate the components for installation.

Wood Pattern Making

This project’s minimal budget also required the acquisition of donated material and the transformation this everyday material into a beautiful architectural artifact that can be constructed, installed and remain in the clients venue.
Donated materials for this project include: 1/2” tube steel, acrylic and wood of various types.

The project time line was 6 weeks to undertake design and fabrication. This group specifically wanted DF expertise on parametric and advanced geometry via the Grasshopper software. In addition we advised on fabrication methods and design-development during the very early stages of their process.
